Get out of dashcam mode
Dashcam mode means openpilot is not controlling the car. Start by checking the exact car, not by trying random software.
Do not force a car matchA different branch cannot make an unsupported car safe or supported. Confirm the exact configuration first. If your car is listed, use stock openpilot to separate a setup problem from custom-software behavior.

Check your exact car
Match the year, region, trim, driver-assistance package, and required harness. If the official listing marks it as Dashcam mode, or does not list that configuration, stock openpilot will not provide driving control.

Rule out custom software
If the exact car is listed but you installed a community fork, return to current stock openpilot while parked. That gives you the clearest compatibility check before changing anything else.

Recheck setup, then ask for help
If the listed car still shows an unsupported or unrecognized message on stock openpilot, compare the harness and connections with comma's setup guide. Save the exact screen message and contact comma support if it remains.

Still stuck on stock openpilot?
Keep the car parked while checking connections. Note the exact wording on the screen, then send it with your car year, trim, and package to comma support.

The current openpilot release distinguishes messages for an unsupported car, an unrecognized car, and general dashcam mode. The official car list also marks some configurations as dashcam-only; those entries do not receive adaptive cruise or lane centering from stock openpilot.
