One tap to your comma app.

First, open the real app

Choose your service in our app directory, open its official website, and check that you can reach your own device. Add that page to your phone—not this guide or the settings simulator.

A Home Screen web app can feel like an installed app. Features such as notifications, offline access and Bluetooth still depend on the service, browser and phone. An icon does not grant additional device access.

iPhone: use Safari

Apple’s current Safari guide; menu layout varies with iOS and Safari settings.

1. Open the companion website in Safari.
2. Open the page menu, then choose Share. Some Safari layouts show the Share button directly.
3. Find Add to Home Screen in the share sheet.
4. If shown, enable Open as Web App, choose a recognizable name, and tap Add.
5. Open the new icon. Sign in again if the service asks.

If Add to Home Screen is missing, scroll to Edit Actions in the share sheet and add it. Older iOS versions may show different options.

Android: use Chrome

Current Chrome for Android help; wording varies by installed version and website.

1. Open the companion website in Chrome.
2. Open the three-dot More menu.
3. Choose Install and create shortcut, then Install when available. Some versions group this under Add to Home screen.
4. Follow the phone’s confirmation prompts, then open the new icon.

If Chrome offers a shortcut instead of Install, it can still give you a quick way to reopen the website. A shortcut is not a promise that the site runs as a standalone app.

The icon opens, but my comma is missing

• Check that you signed in to the account paired with your device.
• Check the comma is powered and connected to the network required by the service.
• For a local dashboard, reconnect to the network that reaches your comma. Mobile data alone does not make a local address reachable.
• Open the original website in the browser. If it also fails there, resolve the connection or account problem first.

Use the app’s official pairing instructions. Never share private pairing links or access tokens with someone helping you troubleshoot.
