Do you need an angle wedge?
If your windshield angle tilts the device more than roughly 5 degrees, an angle wedge can level the screen and improve fit.

Common candidates include Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Ford F-150, Ford Maverick, and Rivian trucks and SUVs.

BearTech notes that its comma 4 Side Slidemount usually does not need a wedge. For everything else, confirm against your exact glass angle before buying.

Which mount should you get?
The short buyer logic from the original guide.
You want the simplest option
Stay with the official mount. It costs nothing extra and is still perfectly fine if you rarely remove the device.
You remove the device often
Choose BearTech Slidemount for C3/C3X or BearTech Side Slidemount for C4. Those are the safest community-default picks.
You want magnetic quick release
For C3/C3X, pick BearTech Magmount or Janka Cross Glide. For C4, Janka is the cleaner premium magnetic option.
You want the cheapest path
Use the printable community options, but print with high-temp material and expect more tinkering.
