How to install sunnypilot

Choose the installer for your comma device, then follow the setup steps below.

Before changing software, check your car’s year, equipment and harness.

These are the stable releases. A branch is a version of the software; the two devices use different branches.

Using comma three?

The project lists a testing version for comma three, but no stable release. Check sunnypilot’s branch list before changing software.

Three installation steps

  1. Park, connect power, and join Wi-Fi

    Keep the car parked and the device powered. Switching from another project? Follow the uninstall guide to return to setup.

  2. Choose Custom Software

    After the device restarts into setup, select Custom Software when that option appears.

  3. Enter the URL for your device

    Copy the exact value from the matching card above, enter it on the comma screen, and follow the on-screen installation steps.

After installation

Check that the device shows sunnypilot and the branch listed beside your installer. Follow the on-screen setup and calibration instructions.
