Is comma better than Hyundai / Kia HDA 2?
Consider comma if its monitoring and software approach match your priorities on a supported car. HDA 2 already adds features beyond basic HDA, so compare those explicitly instead of treating it as ordinary lane keeping.

What your factory system already does
Hyundai describes HDA 2 with lane-centering, speed assistance and assisted lane changes. Kia’s 2026 K4 guide describes a hands-off warning and cancellation if hands remain undetected.
What could make comma worth it
Camera-based attention monitoring is a useful comma distinction from that documented hands-on behavior. It does not prove a better lane-change feature or transfer every HDA 2 function into openpilot.
What to check for your car
Identify your exact generation and hardware requirements. The K4 manual illustrates factory HDA 2 behavior. It does not establish comma support for the K4 or other HDA 2-equipped cars.
Does HDA 2 mean hands-free driving?
Not in the cited Kia implementation: it warns when hands are not detected and can cancel. Use your own model’s manual because packages and markets differ.
