More about Dynamic Experimental Control

Experimental Mode lets the driving model attempt acceleration and braking decisions. Dynamic Experimental Control (DEC) adds automatic switching between regular adaptive cruise behavior and model-led behavior while Experimental Mode is active.

For comma four, use Sunnylink → Cruise → Dynamic Experimental Control. On comma 3X, the on-device path is Settings → Cruise → Enable Dynamic Experimental Control; Sunnylink also exposes the control.

Both switches matter: Experimental Mode must be active and Dynamic Experimental Control must be enabled. The car must support sunnypilot acceleration and braking control. DEC does not add that support to an incompatible car.

Automatic switching is experimental driving assistance. It does not guarantee correct stops or reliable decisions; continue supervising and be ready to take over.

Other forks may offer automatic switching under different names and conditions. A shared goal does not mean their controls or behavior are identical.
